That isn't the original TLC match you linked, that was a ladder match it says it in the title of the video. The original TLC match was at Summer Slam in 2000.

Dude, don't bring logic into pro wrestling.

If you do then every TLC match is just a ladder match, and the one at this years TLC wasn't even a ladder match, it was just a hardcore match (or what ever the fuck they call them now).

It was a ladder match.

I stayed out of this thread for so long because I didn't want to get into a argument about pro wrestling on the internet. I have reached a new found low :corncry:

Also, Swagger's right wing heel booking angle is ridiculously well done.

Dude used to legitimately scare the shit out of me when I was a kid.

Taker/Roberts/Bearer Vs The Ultimate Warrior was possibly my favourite feud ever and pretty much all happened in the Funeral Parlor. Genuine darkness - it's not often that wrestling manages to be scary when it tries, but those three really knew what they were doing. Take and Snake would've made a hell of a tag team with PB as manager. :6:

Rest In Peace (c)

And yeah, I've caught up a bit now. It's REALLY clever. They're not going OTT with it, but letting Zeb walk that line of "I'm not racist, but..." which certain parts of the media spend their whole existences on. I wonder if anyone in the crowd dares to cheer for them?

Dropping Kayfabe to respond to Beck was a great move too. Mantel, I salute thee.

Clearly they're too happy with the momentum to check Swagger's 420 indiscretion!

The free mainstream exposure they're getting with Beck ATM not surprised.

Punk/Taker confirmed for WM as well...as if he had any chance of breaking the streak before, he's got even less now Bearer's gone.

Streak's untouchable... and surely they wouldn't risk not being able to have 'Taker defend it at WM30? Taker will retire undefeated at WM next year unless he defaults on his mortgage or something. Undertaker and Bearer made some unholy deal before walking out to face Superfly in '91... Bearer's just gone down to pay the first installment. It's impossible.

In the back of my head, I actually kind of want Punk to do it (he's the only person that should), but I know by the time the Dead Man's shoulders are on the mat following a GTS, I'll be shouting for a 2 count... I think the streak's just about the only thing in wrestling that I'm still genuinely marked out for.

They should hype an Undertaker/Kane feud for an entire year and then retire them both at the same time.

Agreed.

Ryback/Henry feud they've teased at could be interesting if Skippy improves his ring work and stops botching shell shocked.

He seems to have been yanked from the headline spots pretty abruptly, but I wouldn't want him chucking around my top talent either. Might as well let him and The Shield make their mistakes together.

Henry is still owed a proper title run - I spent most of the 00s not giving a fuck about him because of bad booking and dodgy gimmicks, but he's a fucking BEAST.

I've just realised that I've disliked Ric Flair for my entire life.

He botched it with Heyman at a house show the other month.

Heyman.

Hardly a dead weight like Fat Albert.

It's a shame KOTR doesn't really run any more, would be perfect for Henry this year IMO.

Well, gosh. The sad bit is I didn't specifically know any of that, but had already assumed a fair bit just based on looking at dude. Blading during a domestic... :|

http://www.cracked.com/article_20029_5- ... acter.html

Koloff :Q:
He didn't drop the act once the cameras were off, either -- Simpson refused to speak English in public under any circumstance, not even in his normal day-to-day life. Instead, he had someone pretend to act as his interpreter for anything that required him to interact with other people, including renting his goddamned apartment.

As American-Soviet relations improved, Nikita Koloff actually became a beloved good guy by the end of the 1980s. But Simpson still never broke character, right up until his retirement in 1992. By that time, Simpson was so immersed in Nikita Koloff that he didn't stop speaking with a Russian accent for two more years, and even had his own birthplace listed as Lithuania on his child's birth certificate.
Now that's adherence to kayfabe!

Who's psyched for WrassleMania next week? Rock or Cena? Lesnar or Triple H? Fandango or Y2J?

And how about that Bully Ray on the other side. Aces and Eights 4 lyfe?

let's talk about wrestling

Isn't there already a wrestling thread?

Rock vs Cena is like deja vu, teasing a not gonna happen Cena heel turn. Plus basically a forgone conclusion Cena will win, and Cena can't carry Rock the way Punk can. I don't have faith that creative can make this match interesting.

Punk vs Undertaker will probably be a great match, but will Taker put Punk over? I actually think this is less of a forgone conclusion then 'twice in a lifetime'.

The Shield vs Team WWE is intriguing because they are playing up the 'can we trust Big Show' angle but an Oron heel turn has been in the works for a long time. This match has the potential for the biggest swerve of the card.

None of the rest of the matches have me too excited, I hope to be pleasantly surprised.

Also, the weather has been warming up as late, but I live in CT and having an outside Wrestlemania this time of the year is playing with fire. I actually think the prospct of snow could make for a unique show.
