it's the principle man. You can rationalize why it's petty and ok all you want but it's still stealing at the end of the day; Just because nobody dies or goes through gratuitous suffering as a result does not make it justifiable.

Your putting words in my mouth, I'm just simply saying i think this has gona a bit too far. Some of the things people talk about on this forum regularly & i've been slated for 10 pages over jokingly asking how to steal food from an all you can eat

You're still trying to justify a crime, and from your previous comments you seem to think that a lesser offence/offence against someone who can 'take the hit' is acceptable.

Am just trying to clarify if this is a sliding scale approach you're favouring, and if so where the end lies.

I think to steal on a regular basis just because they can 'take the hit' isn't a cool thing to do. But i personally do not really care that i stole some chinese food from an all you can eat, for the first and probably last time in my life.

Also if i was stranded in a city for a day cus I'd lost my wallet maybe, I probably would steal a drink from Sainsbury's or Tesco.

We got a Roland stage piano and some pretty nice quality faux-houseplants from a skip the other week. Pretty happy with that. We've had fuckloads of office chairs over the years too.... oh, and a couple of paintings!

The skips behind Waitrose on the High St are frankly obscene for the level of in-date Mr Kipling produce that turns up. Shame I don't eat cake more really... I always leave them hoping someone a bit more needy will have noticed. The tramps in W1 are all Angel Slice munching ballers now.

I used to get made to throw out insane amounts of food when I worked in sainsburys bakery.
Litrerally a black sack FULL off cream donuts/buns etc a day.

Since that place was a shambles I was left in charge from 7 till close so eventually If people came up when I was on I would ask them what other stuff they wanted and whacked it in a box as reduced to pennies.
Friends would come and get a donut for 12p and Id cram a box full of loads of stuff and send them to the self checkouts!

Their whole reasoning is you "cant" sell it to staff and you cant give it away as there are people that hunt out for items that are out of date and eat them in attempts to get ill so they can sue or some such madness.
