thrilla- feels like the dblue glitch is too over used man, but you got a pretty good vibe going on. feels like sometimes your kick gets a little lost, maybe cause the synth is so high, turn it down a tad. when it dropped i wasn't expecting that, talking bass these days are way to common. kinda put me off the whole feel. intro and that dont really go together
bevoh- honestly feels like its too happy to be the style your going for. also go check out the thread i made and grab the sample pack and breaks, some quality samples in there man, will really give you a helping hand. samples are half the battle, you can barely hear your perc.
mexican kangaroo- i really like your intro, love the break. always gets my pantaloones wet. fucking NICE, drop, neurofunkness man. i love it. i dont know what your on about, that is pretty sweet. but we are always our own worst critic. not to keen on the second build. love the sound you added on the second drop though man, killer work. continue that

haha for anyone has heard my other songs, be prepared this is a little different then my normality. so bear with me and give me some honest feedback.

oprs, I like the the intro synths and sampled. I feel like the track is missing something after the synths go away... not sure what really. Once it drops Im not sure its really my type of track. mixing sounds good though

First time I post in this section. Fairly new in the whole production thing so excuse me for not going in to deep or describing things in a way it doesn't make a lot of sense just asked if it isn't clear or slap me when I'm all wrong
mplz - wow really digging this intro man, so beautiful. Can't find anything to complain about really. In some kind of way the setting reminded me of this song called inner Univese used as intro for Ghost in the Shell SaC. Not sure if you agree with me on this one but maybe it's worth checking for inspiration. Anyways really curious how the tune will work out
oprs - Like the tom sound and how it rolls in the main part. Do dig the synth even tho it isn't completely my thing. Only pointer i have is maybe make the intro a bit shorter just to keep the listeners interest. But that's just it really
Thrilla - About the drop, I do like what you did but I think adding just a little bit of breathing space before the drums kick in will give it more impact

. Like the pitch bend on the piano intro, nice small addition. Only thing I would check is the second bend. The transition into the part after isn't as smooth as the first bend. But that's just
Would love to hear some feedback on this one. Basicly it's just the composition, haven't done a lot of processing in terms of eq-ing and mixing so pointers are welcome. I do think the overal high eq could be a little bit higher so the frequency spectrum gets more filled in the upper area. Also not sure about the sub-bass. Listening on my monitors it sounds okay but when playing it on a more crappy system they kinda get lost which leaves the tune a bit empty. Suppose I'm looking for some more definition of that sound. tried that but lost the connection with the other sounds so left the definition part out.

okay, shoot!!

+1 to that.
"It doesn't sound like <insert artist here> therefore I don't like it" seems to be the general modus operandi on any internet forum, especially one production related (DOA being one of the worst examples). Do your thing, if people are feeling it great, if they don't, great. I'm sure the first time people heard James Blake, or Burial they were like "WTF is this?" Now everyone is making scratchy/watersoaked downtempo music with vocals.

nzym- thanks for the feedback, i still gotta work on it. i love the space you got in the intro. its sick not to sure of the snare in there. but the drop is so damn nice. really dig the beat you got going on, maybe change it up a little bit every couple bars? really got a nice sound working out though, different. thats for sure.

working from the depths of the dungeon on this one guys.

@nzym - I like the little rhythmic elements on the perc and the atmospheric hits in the background. For the sub situation I'd suggest highpassing the sound you are currently using for the bassline so you keep some of the upper end resonance, and layer a proper sine wave based sub under it following the same pattern (maybe sidechained to the kick), EQ everything above 220hz out of the sub, and perhaps notch it a little at around 100hz to let your kick through. Also on the reverse rising filter section (towards the end you hear an example) automate either some delay or a room verb to give it some space and movement towards the end of the bars (technique I like playing with).
Good stuff!
Cheers,

Aint been here in a while but trying something new with my latest.

Bare in mind I don't lick peoples assholes (unless they deserve it) so if you're not prepared to have real honest criticism of your track given to you then don't read on.
@nzym - I quite liked this once it got into it. Intro felt like it went way too long with nothing happening though. Nice trippy vibes, like the percussion other than the snare which felt a bit 'power ballad' to me. All the little incidentals and weird noises make this track what it is but I still got bored by the end. Having lots of little changes keeps things flowing for a while but it wasn't long before I really needed it to do something more interesting. Overall it's not bad, decent, wouldn't warrant a replay though.
@oprs - Couldn't get into this I'm afraid. Hat's really annoyed me and I find tracks like this really boring unless there's some atmosphere/padwork etc in the background to give it a nice eerie vibe. For me this just sounded like kick, snare, bait bassline, kick, snare etc etc
@Bevoh - I really like some elements of this but the track felt let down by the lack of low end. I'm not just talking sub, although that was extremely quiet. But it sounds almost as if you put a high pass filter on at 300hz or something :s The sounds are all nice and wonky and the track made me smile but that mixdown needs some serious work.

ty man
real crits always work, im already revising the intro/after. preciate it man.
intro sounds weird, but i like it. when the beat comes in im not a huge fan of the synth sound that progresses through, the little arp and pad come through really nice. wasn't expecting the change up at around 130 though, fit nicely. i like the second synth alot more for sure. second drop is so peaceful man, killer chill vibe for sure. im a fan, keep it going.

@ Paravrais
Out of the ordinary this, I like the off beat drums. I personally don't like the sub I think if it was lowered a bit so it really rumbles my sub then it would sound a lot smoother, some alteration to the bassline aswell would go nice after say 32 after the drop. I like the atmosphere as a whole but think it could do with a vocal to set it just right. The breakdown would go lovely if you made a really complex piece for it imo. The mid bass after the drop sounds a bit muddy or a bit low to me.
@ oprs
I love the drums the whole sway to it, I like the mid bass I do think it sounds a bit low though. The sub sounds just right got a nice little foot massage. I think the intro runs on a bit too much maybe shorten it or add some other percs in there to keep it from getting samey. Overall though I'm liking it looking forward to hearing the end result.
@ nzym
Loving the percussion, I am a right whore for some lovely off beat percussion or nice percussion as a whole so deffo thumbs up.
The snare I'm not a fan of sounds a bit weak maybe layer it up? maybe a amen snare under it.
I like the idea you got going sounds like a moody head roller. The sub seems a bit low but I do like it maybe higher it a piece.
Same with the FX.
Some alteration with the sub and drums pattern every so often and it will start taking a nice form! big ups!
Soundcloud
My current work in progress not too sure about the mid bass but still throwing different ideas in, any feedback appreciated!

@lucaskane - my only comment, I'd really like to hear that piano being explored more, you tease it early but then it goes away.

I was planning on using the piano throughout and having no mid bass but I decided to try a different direction. Might open another project and go the other route!

feeling pretty dark with all the shitty weather in the UK so thought i'd reflect with this track.
Soundcloud
@nzym- Liking the sparseness of the track and think it would fit really well in a mix but perhaps you should do a little more with the track atleast halfway in, perhaps chuck some pads in or perhaps double up the synth your already using and change some of the parameters around, add a distortion into the mix and automate it. However, the beat is really catchy.
@pavrais- not really one for wonky but this one is quite good. The off beat drums are really what make this track, can't really think of anything you could improve on tbh.
@lucaskane- yeh, good track up until the midbass. Sounds a little too 'farty' (for lack of a better term). Solid track though, perhaps just lower the filter cutoff from that synth.

aspect- superb intro, really feeling this track. maybe bring the wobs up Just a tick? bass is crazy good. percussion compliments really well. you captured shitty weather for sure, damn song reminds me of a thunder storm.
lucas- maybe lessen the kicks in the intro? its right in your face from the get go, kinda wanna lure your listeners in, i like the midrange, but a little more effect on them would work nicely. im really diggin this sound. midrange is a little in your grill though. im getting a cross between kenzo and jamesblake on this one. nice keep it going.

update of what i was working on, listened to stealth and filled the track out and to my suprise its working a lot better now.

@aspect-dubz Love this track, super dark, the phased/chorused orchestral strings deserve to come front and center a lot more on the first drop, as a continuing theme from the intro. I'd drop them after the second drop (which is where you currently bring them back in).

ahh.. mortal kombat, good times

I usually play tracks and flick to a different page as to avoid seeing the waveform which in my opinion ruin's the drop.
The first drop definitely caught me off guard. would probably take the track in a different direction after the second one, perhaps use that wobbly filtered bass that comes in at the breakdown. Percussion seems on point and the bass is nice and upfront, digging it man.
edit: oh yeh, cheers for the feedback fella's.
deafblind, track in the sig is beastly

nzym love the vibe and groove to this song, perfect sample selection. Sub has a little too much high end for my taste, but could also be my headphones not catching the low end all the way. Either way dig the tune a lot.
aspect Dig what you have so far, I like the pads you bring in towards the end but they could stand to be a bit louder. Reverb and delay on the pops is perfect. Proper dark dub

@lucaskane - ok, piano more front and center now, now add some verb and a little delay, roll some off the top end and it'll be perfect. Add some more high end phrases on the piano too and you have it done.
