Man, back in the day before shit went tits up with student loans, that was seriously the best way to buy something on credit...the interest was incredibly low...I guess it still is compared to credit cards.

Shit man, before they clamped down here in the US you could just randomly borrow thousands for "living expense and transportation" and they would cut you a check after the loan paid your tuition...lol

Then, as the only funding for the Iraq war proposed by the Bush administration, grad loan interest rates went up by over 50%.

By the by...decided to trade in the MicroBrute and a few sundries for a Mopho Keyboard (not x4). The MicroBrute is cool...but rather bland...the Mopho has real balls man...I need that Dave Smith sound back in my life...

When you wrap your opinion in that sexy Russian package it is rather hard to ignore...

(but seriously...I'm being dense...I can't which of those two you actually prefer...lol)

Think Jumangi and I were the first dsf'er to receive a Brute, underwhelming.

I'm all up in the DSI sound. I think P6 is holy grail.

P08... the distant dream, the P08.

Ok. That was my best guess. Yea...very underwhelming ultimately...i used it successfully in tunes many times but ultimately I was like....meh...and I sold the Mopho to get it... the dave smith sound is so fucking good imo....easily aggresive when need be but you can coax soooo much lush and sexy out of his sytnhs...

Defo a step above. I just want to get one with a usable interface.

Can you imagine the p6? Having all that analog sound, no menus? I've heard really diverse sounds out of what is ultimately a limited architecture.

But P08...

Haha. Ditto man... they got a price projection on that P06 yet?! Honestly Dave Smith isn't overpriced what-so-ever IMO. He is like the only one getting it right...the Tempest was somewhat of a debacle, but they came back...eventually...and updated the OS.

My plan is to wait it out and find a decently priced Tetra to poly chain to the Mopho Keys...I know ultimately I'm getting less in some regards than just buying a PO8...I'll have to see...its hard for me to save up ~1K. But I can swing 500 at every quarter or so...

I'm so done with wasting money on "budget" stuff....there are some inexpensive gems about these days...but honestly I think that NI Monark sounds better than the MicroBrute for bass. Mother fucking truth.

I think P6 is what, $2700, $2800. The latter, I think.

Parva mate. I wouldn't buy anything analog (save the volcas, or 100 or less synths) right now, until this Parva situation works itself out. Really could be huge. Game changer.

Oh yea. No doubt. I'm rooting for Parva.

Edit: At that price point, the PO6, I'd rather have the P08 module...depending on what the options were on the P06.

We're in a loop, but I don't like modules. I like the immediacy of keys right there on the synth, sit down and play. These keys make sounds with these knobs and faders. Discreet. I like everybody having their place, their role.

Modules are awesome when you don't have space for racks of keyboards. With that said, I'm out of space for modules as well. My studio is rammed in the corner of my living room. Shit, come to think of it, my whole apartment has been a studio for the last 10 years. Total bachelor pad, it takes a special kind of woman to want to hang out in my geek apartment.

Image

The other side of the room is a networking lab. That was a whole different kind of gear lust. It's grown since this pic. I was trying to figure out ways to get cheap gear while I was studying for my CCNA. Don't get me started about the time that I thought I was interested in HAM radio and radio in general (I still am actually).

This ting is seriously fun. It is a little advanced dub siren. Wide range of sounds actually. Pick one up! Some of you probably have already. They were about $90 - 100 recently. I got mine for 21 bucks.
