It surprises me how familiar people who claim to be anti-pop are with their music when it's so easy to avoid. I watch TV. I read the papers. I'm online most of the day, but I've never even had to decide to not find out about these people... do people listen to them just so they can be annoyed?
I reckon you probably have heard those guys but it's been in the background somewhere and you didn't know who it was.
Still I do agree, unless you work somewhere that has the radio on the whole time it's pretty easy to avoid shit music (though all my time going out on the piss with not very serious music fans at uni did expose me to a lot of Guetta type crap).
Overally I think it's pretty ridiculous how it's such a big deal for some people to hate on pop music. Especially when I like some pop type shit anyway (though most of my buying of any of it comes a little while on like with the large amount of timbaland and neptunes produced stuff I go after now from years back)
I mean I get loads of flack from people for saying that Beyonce has loads of good tunes despite it being true. Are people still insecure about what their taste says about them like in secondary school or some shit?

Oh, I've never heard David Guetta or Steve Aoki as well... but I do know Steve Aoki is Devon Aoki's brother. Yeah, I'm sure I've "heard" stuff in the background, but I've never found myself confronted with it in any way that's made me angry or want to go and rant about it online.
I've heard one Justin Bieber song which was enough to convince me I'll never need to hear another. For a pop phenomenon that people think has taken over the world, he had a remarkably small impact.
I used to get stuff forced on me by my ex-girlfriend who was a sucker for some terrible music, but for the last 2 years I think the only act I've really had to pay attention to that I don't like is Jessie J; and that's only because my housemate does her press. I still listen to pop, but I can't fathom the idea of sitting through anything I don't like for 4 minutes when there's always so many options for skipping to something I do.
People love being annoyed. They'd all be bored as fuck without X Factor to complain about.

Yes Magma, I've been saying that for years on here! The amount of 'hear how awful this is' threads is amazing.
I think I've heard one Skrillex tune, but I seriously couldn't even come up with a name or whatever.
To think how many great tracks you're missing and how many awful tracks you are listening to from time to time annoys me greatly.
Southstar, Robin Thicke is a must just for the video.

i actually quite like that
what dya class that as?
"Industrial hardcore". It's quite big here in NL. Like the primary style of 'underground hardcore'.
Motormouth Recordingz, the Third Movement and Genosha One Seven Five are some of the main labels releasing dis shit.

There's a gabba subgenre that's pretty similair as well that people make here in the UK too. Can't remember what it's called though as it's been a few years since I actually was paying serious attention to it overall

"UK gabber"? Deathchant, etc? Yeah actually, most of those guys dabble in both. DJ Producer was mostly known for that "UK gabber" style but he's doing more industrial shit atm.

Hmm yeah, there was a slower industrial sounding movement within the Uk gabber stuff though too. There was a record store nearby that actually had a gabber section where bits of it would turn up. This was like 6 years ago though

baby you light up my world like nobody else
the way that you flip your hair gets me overwhelmed
but when you smile at the ground it ain't hard to tell
you don't know, oh, oh
you don't know you're beautiful
if only you saw what i can see
you'll understand why i want you so desperately
right now i'm looking at you and i can't believe
you don't know, oh, oh
you don't know you're beautiful, oh, oh
that's what makes you beautiful! ♫♪♫

Possibly the best Gabba/Hardcore act I've ever seen... or at least the most reliable. Always enjoy his sets!
The only time I've ever managed to hack 2 straight hours of Gabba was him preceded by Eustachian. HARD.
