this has been an issue in the olympics since day one.
how do you decide gender as its a role the individual assigns to themselves and as sum1 posted already, can change!
so, what do you do in that situation?
shud it be done on "muscle mass" and the whole idea of gender specific contests be abandoned? as like clearly this athelete has a more stereotypically masculine physic than the other competitors and is therefore probably genetically pre-disposed to run faster than those without such a physic.
its a difficult one imo.

think it's disgusting that her sex is being discussed in the news, it should have been done in private. She could have some Androgen or Intasex disorder that she didn't previously know about and now she is going to be labelled a freak, plus her mental health is going to take one helluva hit. If there was any doubt it should have been aired prior the event and not after it, again in private. She's only 18 and this is going to be seriously damaging for her

Plus it borders dangerously close to eugenics for me.

It could be said to be borderline eugenics insofar as it is a scientific selective process as to what constitutes a person to be of one particular sex and if anything deters from that it is considered 'not normal'.
