Its coz its a very VERY old version of the software and any coder worth his weight could make a pm script to send to all members. You need to get admins to update the forum software if u want it to stop.

If you run in to to problems (becuase of big database) best thing to do is convert the database locally using xamp. http://www.apachefriends.org/en/xampp-windows.html

It works like a apache server with phpmyadmin etc. You can doanload all your files and database, do the install / conversion on your home PC (way faster). Then upload the converted database to the real server.

I think it's great if someone spends their free time personally sending me their tune in a PM...if they're sending it to everyone on the forum in one go then thats not on...
