This is kind of disapointing and obviously tough for you. As far as I can tell Richie Hawtin hasn't used his Plasticman name actvely for a years even though those albums do sell quite a bit still. He's used 'Richie Hawtin' for his last two big mix cd concepts.
Why is Plastique out of the question?
Otherwise how about Cha'man or something
Sorry

I don't think it will damage Plasticman, because he's made enough of a name for himself now.
Don't Plasticman post on forums as TerrorRyhthm anyways?
Or The Hard Graft?
The Shower?!
Just make it proper, stick 'the' in front of it and you sorted.
The Nekkle.
The Cha.
The etc.

the reason plastic, plastiq, plastique etc. are off limits is because there are people with those names already...

That's a complete bummer, and you obviously don't wanna lose your identity,
Why not something like Plazticman, or Plastiqueman ie just change a couple of letters, neither of those 2 show up on that discogs site
The other side of the coin most everyone knows who you are so you could start a new name and add (formerly Plasticman) for a while in the transition period, and as it goes out to a wider audience drop the formerly bit.
None of which is ideal. I had a lot of respect for that guy before, did one of the most mental sets ever at Glastonbury in '95, and has put out some wicked stuff, but acting like a corporate whore is rough stuff.
Don't rush your decision fella.
