myself, and all the people that i know that are into dubstep firmly believe dubstep evolved from grime. whats this bullshit about the 'dubstep media erasing grime'. grime and dubstep definetly share the same DNA, probably why there is so much cross polination.

it is true, dubstep was invented in america!! george w bush invented dubstep when he used to make hiphop and crunk beats with "Timberland, Dj Screw, Bone Thugs, Crucial Conflict, Outkast, Dead Prez etc" (this was before God wanted him to become president) obviously due his dad being the president at the time and all that, the government had to cover it all up and created this bullshit conspiracy that dubstep was invented in the uk! the truth always comes out in the end..... i'm sure they'll find those WMDs in iraq as well. keep the faith crunk tesla!!

Before I heard dubstep I was living on the West Coast in LA, blazing away to dutty grime beats, Kuduro, DJ Screw, Crunk, old jungle, as well as all that other stuff he listed....and yes, those genres primed me for getting into dubstep.
