yeah they keep the bitrate low so wankers dont rip tunes outta the sets, and so the files arent as big = less costs for their servers.

maybe if your using a dollar store pair of gameboy headphones...

there is a huge difference between 128 and 192.. the difference is night and day.

I distinctly remember RINSE having issues with other people ripping and hosting all of their PIRATE FM shows and posting links on here. They made a very big deal out of it, wanted to do it themselves, perhaps charge(as if)...

anyway, now that they put a rather screeching halt to it, let us ask ourselves how on point the podcasts are... 64k bitrate which is absolute garbage, on which the DJs will play like 30 seconds of a tune to tease us, as if 64k anything sounds good.

I recommend that we all start ripping the shows again and posting the 64k initial stream as a 320mp3... 64k rip, encoded at 64k = like what... 8k bitrate? lol. Anyway, just a thought. There used to be no monopoly on this shit and it worked very well before somebody decided to fuck with it.

Edit: also wanted to note, as the bitrate drops, it is actually the high end that disappears, not the low end. The high end plays a role in what the low end sounds like in the audible range.

We've been crying about the bit rate since the dubplate forum days, don't think it's gonna change. At least rinse plays a variety of forward thinking music

yah this some of my first exposure to Rinse was gettin some of those golden 05 and 06 shows off barefiles

at the end of the day Rinse dont 'ave to give us fuck all. stop moaning and be gratfull that we are lucky enuff to have such a thing in the first place

I used to be a Rinse Fm Dj back in 2003-2004 and got thrown off for something i didn't do, so you would think that i would agree with you, when you say Rinse is shit!! Rinse Fm is by far the best radio station for not only dubstep, but NEW music!! Can't take that away from Geeneus and everyone invovled!! Big up Rinse, they deserve it!!
