cheeky bit of sawtooth? Why the prejudice against the midrange. Personally i like sub and a nice HEAVY mid range disto sawtooth thingy, doesnt have to be a straight 1/8 lfo to filter cutoff jobo either.

massive post again futures, very helpful
@nowaysj: yes i do recommend smoking a bit of ganja while making your basses
as far as my opinion on the midrange, cut it in two. upper midrange is where you're going to be getting your cack like futures said. lower midrange is nice to fill the mix and make the bass more mental and gritty without being a straight sub wub.
Midrange
(Approximately 400hz-2.6khz)
Upper Midrange
(Approximately 2.6khz-5.2khz)
also according to the equal loudness contours, the human ear is gonna be most sensitive in the vocal ranges, which overlay the midrange, so thats why you get some complaints about the cackier basses. its all in how much you use. different people are going to hear it differently.
that being said, an idea i had today was use 2 filters in parallel. two examples i can think of are..
high pass first to cut the subsonics, then low pass to cut the upper midrange, modulating the low pass for mentalness
low pass first to cut the midrange, then highpass to cut the bass, modulating the highpass for a thudthudthud wobble
ez

Try waves 30-38 in albino 3.
saturation 2 and a 12db lpf.

As always... big ups to Future's.... always very knowledgable.
and i know this isn't gonna help at all... but Sukh uses samples... he doesn't "design" his sounds in a synth... but he's def on some MAJOR layering, eq'ing and fx proccessing.

futures untold, you should chill wit spamming your opinions over 'midrange cack', despite your deep hate towards it, your tunes are overlaid with really flat generic sounding synths over your subs. i think that sound is a worse offense and actually lies within the same realm of midrangey synths you seem to not like. maybe if you stopped trying at all costs to avoid a certain sound youd discover different ways to make warmer synths to overlay over subs and givem more character. just sayinn

well... basically he told me he uses a grip of sample pack type stuff from friends or sample cd's ... layers the fuck out of it, add's fx & what not, eq's it. Resamples that, then spends a bunch of time eq'ing the resampled bassline again.
