i got some pdx2300 and a pair of 1200.
The vestex are 100x tighter and the extra pitch range is well worth it. technics are nicer to scratch on though

anyways, you could settle for an oem deck that is based on the Stanton ST 150. There are many of those around. The motor is actually the very same one as in the Technics 1200/1210. Some of these OEM decks are American Audio HDT 4.5, Reloop RP6000 MK5 or 6, Omnitronic 5250, some Citronic one and a couple others. If I bought decks these days, I would settle for those. They're like 70% the price of a Technics.
If you just plan to mix, such decks will suffice. The Numark TTX or Vestax PDX decks are mainly better for scratching. Techs are industry standard, so I would just settle for a deck that is close to it (like those OEM ones) or simply buy Techs if money don't matter.

Unless I'm mistaken babe, it looks to me that you're implying that something can only serve the purpose well of the role it was originally intended to fulfill.

Vestax PDX are ok, but I don't need x50 speed, +8 is fine by me, get any faster/slower it sounds daft, plus the Vestax look cheap in my opinion, and don't buy em second hand, bound to have something wrong with them, like someone said earlier parts are a bitch. ST150s have got shitloads of torque I'll give them that, but the stylings just a rip off, plus durability is untested. Bought my 1200s brand spanking about 6 years ago, best £660 I've ever spent, parts (not that I've needed any) are cheap & easy to get, they show no sign of stopping, I'd buy them again in an instant. Numark, I haven't used so don't have an opinion, I don't really like the way all their turntables are styled the same whether they're dogshit belt drives or top end. whether they're better or worse in anyone's opinion or for anyone's use is pretty much irrelevant if you're ever going to play out. every club you play in will have 1200s. so if you don't want your mixes to sound awful because your decks at home are torquey as fuck, and so every time you go to give a tune a slight nudge, you end up about 3 bars out.

i would take stanton str-150's over a set of techs any day.. higher torque motor, digital outs, pitch lock, key correction, reverse button.. etc etc
