I'm sure you are completely genuine, I did a similar thing with promotion.

The real issue is that although there won't be a contract we will still be legally bound in both the uk and USA. Check out the case for Rozalla. She didn't sign a contract and her manager tried to sell her album to the highest bidder after vast success with everybodys free, which ended with her debut album getting buried.

So you see by using you as a record label we are bound in ways we don't even know about. There's a guy called martin leverton running a scam label(reflex) in Sheffield. He paid Big Ang (anyone remember her?) a tiny amount and kept all royalties through an unfair contract that she rushed into because she was excited. What I'm trying to say is it seems too good to be true and the pitfalls everyone on here has either fallen victim to or heard about sway them from record deals that are being given away for pittance in return.

I would feel safer signing a contract and having it checked through legally. I still don't understand any terms or conditions of the deal, except I receive a service for free in return for advertising (you haven't mentioned any promotional activities, country of origin or how you would gain the income for a vinyl release).

Sorry to grill you but if you're serious you need paperwork. Would you sign a blank contract that I could fill in at a later date?

I do realise you are probably genuine and are looking to be true to music, but honestly you never know.

I'm more than happy to write a contract for anyone, If that is what people would prefer. I did draft one up and look at sending them online with a company but you had to pay like £100 a contract. Only other way was to print 2 copies off and me sign one then have them sign one and then send it back, so we both have a signed copy. As this is open to anyone in any country it would have taken months as it takes so long for the music to be submitted to the stores, which i wouldn't be able to do until they had their signed contract. I have had people contact me from; Spain, Sweden, Poland, America, Australia, Brazil + some other places. I don't mind doing it it's just a lot easier not to. If you don't trust me fine that's your own choice.

@thebees01: That list of mp3 stores is pretty impressive, but as a dubstep label, you should be pushing your artists' music on stores that fans actually give a shit about (Such as Beatport, Juno, Boomkat, Digital-Tunes, Bleep, etc.)

Yeah we push all the artists that I work with to all the sites on that list, and that list if forever growing I can get music on Spotify now as well. Although some sites on that list you can't get on just because they are genre specific, for example a death metal band wouldn't get on beatport, so dubsteps not going to get on a rock specific site.

Looking at sales stats though Itunes and Amazon represent more than 90% of the global digital incomes for almost all labels and artists, even most of dance and electronic labels (which dubstep falls under). Beatport as respectable as it is to have your music on there you won't make as much money as you would selling your music on Itunes and Amazon. Obviously some people are going to disagree with me there but all the global digital income stats prove this to be ture.

if you don't answer the questions of potential clients, I can't imagine you will take care of the people once you have them signed on
