Also, you're pretty outnumbered.

There are more feature filled decks and arguably they are better than Technics... but the fact remains they are standard and unless you plan on dragging your decks to every place you play your going to be rocking Technics...its a no brainer really..
A mate of mine picked up a 1200 mk5 from a dodgy pawn shop a month or so ago...for £50........tnuc

got them home.
two 1200 mk2s for £150, condition is very good, one needed a new needle and they both had a few scuff marks on the body but work perfectly.
I did the quartz speed check and the big dots stayed perfectly still at +-0 pitch adjustment.
I'm pretty chuffed
now to get practicing...

I've got one problem with one of the decks, it skips a lot, especially as it gets towards the middle of a vinyl.
I've played around with the counterweight, and it still does it, although it does it less when the counterweight is closer to the arm.
It also happens on more than one vinyl i've played.
Anyone know what could be up?

Have you balanced the tone arm correctly

tried messing with Anti Skating? DAMN i want 1210s for £150
BTW saying "I had to change the needles" you need to do this pretty often anyway really - once a year really - maybe even more often.
Although I didn't change mine for about 2 years and but the sound quality was dreadful by the time i got round to it!

I've owned decks before, i know i need to change the needles regularly, i just mentioned it because a faulty needle might cause skipping (i think?).
Ok, i've followed that video and with one deck it works fine, with the other the tonearm doesn't move to the tonearm clip when i turn antiscating to 3, also the height adjustment is very very stiff.
Any ideas? I hoping i don't need to buy a new tone arm.

youd probably be better letting a mate thats got some have a look or take it down to your local record shop.
probably explain why they were £150 though...

Well one works perfectly, and one 1200mk2 goes for over
£255 on ebay...
I guess I'll have to find a repair shop and take it down.
