I chose Lewes Court as my first choice, Brighthelm as my second and Park Village as third, was kinda hard picking when i aint actually seen the placesDodger Man wrote:Yea, I'm starting on the Music informatics course in Oct. 2010. Gonna stay in Brighthelm if anyones on it??
East Slope did look cool, only thing i wasn't keen on was the tiny rooms! Won't say no to those parties thoughwillm wrote:Sussex Uni lived and Breathed Bass when I went there (2005-2008) Head to East Slope for some mad house parties usually slammin the DNB/Dubstep/Dub and Breakcore. I'm well jealous, would love to do it again!
@Dodger Man: I did MI too, was a good course!
i've seen James Blake, Flylo, Joy Oribison and Appleblim all recently - the local talent is on some shit too, quite a few folks are heading in a 2step/futuregarage direction. Oh, and The Bug w/Flowdan and Digital Mistykz next weekend...harbinger wrote:Soooooo! It turns out i did half decent in my exams, so i'm moving to Brighton in 6 weeks!
Moving into Lewes Court at Sussex Uni, exciting times!
From what i've read here, it seems like there's a fair good mix of different dubstep nights going on. Glasgow has a good varied scene, so i'd hate to just be going to wobble nights every weekend, but it looks like there's a mix of stuff happnin.
Just out of interest... who's played in Brighton the past month or so??
I've got a mate who stayts in Brighthelm and it's pretty good, he has a big house with communal living room and kitchen which is cool, everytime I've been down to see him that's been really good cos there are always loads of people round to hang out with, plus it's near the shop which is good for when you're high and need food quick.harbinger wrote:Was surprised to see this thread resurface, but aye i'm still planning on doing this transfer to sussex. Got my first exam on wednesday so here's hoping![]()

I've not been in uni halls for two years, been in a private flat (with a massive room) for the last two so i hope i can deal with it

I don't know anyone down there so need to make sure this gets bumped again at start of term![]()

Was the FlyLo night the one at Concorde2 with King Midas Sound and Martyn? Cos i was there (the one club night i've been to in Brighton!) and it was a fackin HUUUUGE night! King Midas Sound were unbelievable, shame the soundsystem couldn't handle that much basstincans wrote:i've seen James Blake, Flylo, Joy Oribison and Appleblim all recently - the local talent is on some shit too, quite a few folks are heading in a 2step/futuregarage direction. East Slope is good for parties but I found most of the people living there fucking lame when I was there, all guys who are well new to taking drugs so just do K all day everyday and all they ever talk about is drugs, which gets really really boring after a while. Apparantly park village is really boring, sorry to break it to you mate!
is that the really new one? if so I hear most of the people there are pretty safe plus you get some plush roomsharbinger wrote:Was the FlyLo night the one at Concorde2 with King Midas Sound and Martyn?
