Gotta agree with boogie boy on this one. Get as much ram as you can fit in / afford.

I remember when I used to use a PC, I used to spend half of my time on my PC fixing it, re-installing it, installing anti-virus software, then installing more ram because the anti-virus slowed the whole machine down, then removing viruses, not being able to remove the viruses, re-installing the anti virus software, giving up and reformatting it, sorting out drivers again on loop!
Then in about 2004 I got a mac.
I've never had to do any of that since. Without trying to recite their advertising too much, 'It just works'. I don't feel like I'm fighting against my machine anymore. I've had an iMac and a Macbook and an iMac at my old work and a Macbook Pro at my new work and I've never had to fix any of them, reinstall them, anti-virus them, sort out drivers etc etc.
I had a hardware issue with my macbook where the charger stopped working, took it to the apple store they gave me a new charger, new battery (in case it was damaged by the fact I was using a faulty charger) and extended my warranty by 3 months...for free.

Well if this is true how comes I've seen at least 2 different crashes with people using Logic on the Computer Music videos yet I've never seen it in any of the vids happen with a PC?

Dunno, I was talking more about the OSX rather than logic. I do get logic crashing now and then - probably less than Cubase back in the PC days though. But full system crashes that require restarts almost never happen. I rarely turn my mac off - I've had it running for weeks at a time, putting it in sleep when not in use - from my experiences back in old windows days, there's no way you could do this. Not sure about Windows 7 or what ever though.
The only time when I've had OSX full on system crashes were when I developed a hardware problem with the ram, whereas 'blue screen of death' business was pretty common back in the PC days.
Macs aren't invincible but I would be twice as confident playing live with Mac OSX over Windows, for sure!! It's not just cos of the prettiness that they're so popular with musicians...

I cant remember the last time my pc crashed, it was probably win 98 and it probably had more to do with my noobness than anything. Just saying.

I totally believe him, my pc never crashes. I can't remember the last time mine crash, not saying it hasn't happened but it's a very rare occurance.

I just got a macbook pro and I'm loving it and Ableton live rox it! I like pc still and probably always will but my old laptop is too slow and I figured he extra money for a mac upgrade instead is easily justified since every big name musician I know uses them for a reason!
