one of the all time great albums. every tune is a classic and it is so original. never fails to get me dancing around my room like a nutcase thinking i'm mike skinner. and 'it's too late' always makes me want to cry

I really did try to like the album, some of the production and such is pretty good, I just can't stand mike skinner. The way he 'raps' I just don't get it, think he sounds like a massive tnuc the whole time to be honest.

Can't say i've given the album, or Mike Skinner in general, a proper chance.
Prefer Alestorm tbh.

this makes me kinda sad... it's just on spot with the feeling of a party. forgetting all your troubles in life - all the shit that's around you....
excellent tune.

Love this.
This album got me in to UK music in general back when I was 13. Still rinse it fairly often!

my dad used to play it in the car when i was younger and i wasnt really into any uk dance stuff then, or music even really, but it used to make me laugh... dug it out a bit later when I was more into my music and it was one of those feelings when you rediscover old tracks you aint heard in years and you know all the melodies and rhythms by memory somehow (even if you thought you'd completely forgotten about it) but it still feels like a new album because youve not heard it in time and your mindset has changed.
sick album, shame about the rest (bar grand dont come for free which was alright)

Incredible story teller. First music I got properly into. So many good memories to the first two albums.

AntlionUK wrote:grand is incredible because the whole album is written as one story that carrys brilliantly and ends with two different endings, a pessemistic one and an optimistic one.
yeah i thought it was better than pirate material, but both are amazing albums
