Eh, the one thats the same chords in between the changeup bars, if you dont catch it then good on datsik... if its there, the man sees it, n has justified it before, so, thread can die now, please dont keep bumping it, it will turn into a megathread of hate, and those kill the great vibe here.

Why would you openly 'call out' on someone whos inavitive and popular as datsik?
To be honest, iu know your not trying to but it does sound like a personal Jibe at him. I get the feeling that if datsik wasnt as popular as he is, you wouldn't feel as strongly about his recycling.

I am a massive fan of oldskool Techno and most of it was made using a 909 and a juno. I am well use to hearing a 1 bar hooks looped throughout tracks and hearing people making the same kind of hooks out of bleeps so this thing with Datsik is no biggy to me.

Also, he has a good excuse that sounds real. We all make multiple copies of a tune and save them as you make changes and he may have zipped them up and just sent them out to let artist/label pick which they liked.

Dont owrry bud, you start sendin me recycles, n catch it, Ill call you ou too... I only posted that here cuz I didnt know how else to get @ the guy for an explanation, haha, he is big, might make it harder to get at him, but, not why Im pickin at him... the fact that hes big like that IS probably the only reason I heard those tunes one after another and noticed it though, which deosnt say anything bad about him, I am hearing the tunes arent I?

Yep, thats what I said... If I sent 2 versions of the same tune or two tunes with the same hook and they both got signed, if your tryin to come up like that, eh, coulda been alot worse, at least theres some serious change and not just a STRAIGHT tune bite...

Please dont do that too this poor Datsik, I feel so depressed when I seee the megathreads of aggy-knockin.

Datsik is at least imaginative with what he does to the sounds even if the actual 'melodies' aren't new. I swear there's a million dubstep tunes with identical melodies and basslines, just hammer a note for a bit, maybe go up or down a 5th every so often, no intervals or anything. Anyway that's a different argument.

I don't think musically the two tunes posted sound that similar. But I don't understand how as a producer you wouldn't get bored of all your tunes following the exact same pattern, same build ups, same progressions/drops etc.

No hate megathreads killin vibes, please, let this be an example of a cool guy justifying an industry related move too one of his fans, and move along.

Good man, Datsik is, down too earth enough to explain when he makes a buisness move like that, now leave this one alone before we get a hate fest

Basic A wrote: Im just stuck on those hook chords, but, I guess like deadly said it was a time period move with variations, its a catchy style...

... its about using the same hook bit through the same patch for two tunes, which int hard too miss there, and its completely understandable that if you send out multiple version of a tune too different labels, n your tryin to get your name up, too sign all the contracts that come your way.

Forgive my ignorance. What is a hook?

Ill forgive your innocence when I havent posted a definition... which in this case, I and I think someone else already have defined it. So nope. Noones forgiving you.

EZ though dude, think the main riff of a tune, the like, bar or two worth of note pattern that makes the tune...

Basic A -

I know you want this thread to die... but to be fair, if you were so concerned about it - you would not have started a thread on a public forum entitled "Datsik, I got a bone to pick with you..."

If you didn't want it to be a public thing, you could have just dropped him a PM or something. But, regardless what you say your intentions were, the appearance is that you wanted to smear him publicly about some minor detail that could have been solved by you just not buying the record.

I completely understand Datsik's reasons, but I don't at all understand yours....

Cuz I kinda wanted too see if Im the only one who noticed it or not, becasue really, they are both alright tunes, even if I wouldnt play em in a set together, and judging by all the 'i dont see its' its gettin, I see the audience really probably wouldnt care if I dropped em back to back for gods sake, much less in seperate mix points...

N the man should take it as a BIG UP people listen with that kinda detail, and also, on that note, a pretty big one that he was creative enough in his incedentals and atmospherics that people dont notice the noting...

Its like a sociology experiment and a question, in one... lets me see if anyone else catches it, casue from a DJ perspective, you n I both know Mad Ep, its not about what we hear in it, cuz we listen to the tracks different then those on the dancefloors or on the other end of the airwave. This place is always awesome to gauge how the mass will see something, n if I put those two tunes right next too each other n the mass doesnt see what the dj does, its a good show on the tracks.
