Dang, I use almost everything on the sampler. I can't even remember what a simpler looks like. I guess it depends on how you use them. I often times use the sampler like a synth just using my own waveforms instead of an oscillator.djake wrote:"simpler" in ableton.

Kontakt has a built in visual wave/slice editor (like recycle) so you can edit your slices a little quicker than in the nnxt and it supports nearly all the major sample formats including the akai and emu sample cd formats. If you are using Reason alone there is no need to use another sampler really the nnxt is fine. I dont like recycle, i always use soundforge 1st then load wavs into the nn-xt, so although it may take a little longer to chop the sounds up im just happy doing it that way until i find someway thats better for me, i dont like that drag and drop stuff on recycle its never quite precise enough and you can end up with the sounds chopped all rong.............is Kontact easy to run through reason 4 or is it just stand alone? does sound cool that it supports akai and emu formats but most samples are available in wav anyway right? am just trying to wok out why contact is like over £200, it seems a lot....
It comes with a large pack of samples I believe. Forgive me if I am wrong as I always cut my own samples but I believe if you get the samples formatted as apposed to wavs then everything is set up for you across the keys. NNXT is quite limiting with it's automation. I remember being very disappointed when it came out. I would usually opt for the NN19 and just using one for each sound. The LFO's and filters leave something to be desired as well. I love the simpler. I use it in every single one my tunes. All you really need is simpler and impulse and you can make entire tunes... (not including FX).djake wrote:"simpler" in ableton.
