I need to get piston sounds stomping etc... so like recommend me places to walk into with a mic and explain im making robot music, results could be entertaining!
first things first...do you have a brain? if yes, proceed to figure it out, if no, dont even bother. yeah, i think that's pretty solid advice.

I think it's because it's popular, lots of it is repetitive, and simple. But the sounds are awesome I think. I'm trying to make heavy tunes like that but more musical and less repetitive.

indeed explains it, and I do recognize this. I am trying to attempt the same, Though I'm not really getting rid of repetitiveness...... Gotta work on that :]

I'm trying to change my riffs up allot more. Doing 16 bar loops and completly changing the riff after the breakdown.

32 bar intro - 8 bar build - 16 bar bass - 8 bars transition - 16 bar bass - 8 bars transition - 16 bars bass - 8 bars verso outro - 16/32 bar main break
rinse, repeat.

I prefer to so 16 bar intros. 32 is good in a mix, but just rinsing the songs on there own I find I fast forward through long intros (especially in lots of dnb god! 2 min really!?)
My formula is looking like this lately
16 intro 48 bass-with mid (changing up sounds every 16) 16 bars of sub and no grime, another 48 of bass with mids and then a 16 outro
