That's how the radio DJs pronounce it in the clip. And they don't just mumble it, they speak it quite clearly.

Fuck, I don't know. Maybe the paper in front of them said "deity" and they read "diety" haha

some people pronounce deity the same way as you would diety (if it even existed as a word)
