Does 'No Country For Old Men' count? It's sort of a western.

Otherwise...The Wild Bunch, Shane, For A Few Dollars More, Butch Cassidy etc.

If you like western themes read 'The Collected Works Of Billy The Kid' by Michael Ondaatje. It's really poetic but pretty lurid in places, such as where a man dying of a shotgun wound gets disembowelled by a chicken.

duck you sucker
^^^^ these are all all sergio leone directed. like watching a violent poem, with brilliant soundtracks by ennio morricone. that song 'ecstasy of gold' when tuco is looking for the grave in good, bad, ugly is epic. i'm gonna watch one of these tonight.

Interesting to note how much other directors have ripped off leone (especially tarantino, who even uses morricone style scores for scenes influeced by leone direction. he actually steps over the homage line, imo, especially annoying since so many of his younger viewers have no idea)

shane (love this film)

unforgiven

dunno why, but 'open range' is a guilty persy

Bottom line: if it says Sergio Leone on the tin, jump on it, and hook up your surround system
