i'm not doubting suddam hussein was a bad man, anyone who's been supported and put in power by the US always is, but i doubt half of the bad stuff he's alleged to have done is true

as for the 'right to defend their land/country', this is incompatible if israel continue to develop aggressively and build settlements.....their actions are clearly not just defensive. as for whether it's their land anyway...most jews in israel are of ashkenazi descent so come from eastern europe and nowhere near the middle east

That’s quite an extreme example to use to sum up the state of a nation. Well, I meant the vast majority aren’t brainwashed. Even in Britain we’re manipulated and turned from our better instincts by the press and government and ideas of retribution. Israel is a young democracy in a perpetual state of war. It’s not a happy place!

I feel terrible for Palestinians living under military curfews in conditions little better than refugee camps but it’s a complex political situation out there. I feel terrible about Israeli women and children getting blown up by suicide bombers too. Taking sides isn’t going to help anyone.

Israel’s had some bad leaders but, rightly or wrongly, it’s inevitable that people vote for politicians who make them feel more secure.

Oh, and believe what you like about Saddam Hussein but the crimes of his regime are pretty well documented, not least the unwinnable war against Iran that caused 500,000 deaths and 100,000 casualties from chemical weapons.

apart from, on what basis is it their land?
a few paragraphs in an old book that there were jews living there a few thousand years ago?
surely on that basis all us english people can go build a settlement in normandy, just cos we had a king from normandy a thousand years ago, and start fucking over all the french?
