Yeh but thats just for sub, I am not on about the sub!
I am on about the KICK sound, not the BOOM!
Check it out compared to an 808, you need good speakers/ears to hear the difference!
oh i know there are loads of diff kicks avail from the 808
like i always say... tape 808 pack is best investment you can make unless you get get hands on with an 808

I got em.
They are not hitting the same top frequency's like this.
Cant you hear how its different??
An 808 does not have the punch like this at all its lower.
As far as I know an 808 is a sine wave that starts high and then goes down low real fast right? this hit sounds like it starts higher than a normal 808 kick

Minus the impact, so either filter down or attack up right?
envelope mod it?

All 'I know is 'shaping' it sounds about right
Its like it has some serious thumping KICK at the start that is not found on a standard 808. It then has the boom tail that is the sub and shakes the room, that bit is easy.
But the first THUMP kick sound I cannot work out.

Daw shouldnt matter imo but I am on FL or Reason.
I you saying play with the ADSR?
Even with the attack all the way down it does not have that thump.
The closest thing to it is the 909 kick for that punch imo.

then layer that up
it prolly isnt just an 808, but if you want to make it purely out of an 808 i can do up a tut

Well, an 808 kicks ass on a rig every time. But this extra punch makes it even better:)
I have tried using a 909 with a lp 808 but its not as good.
This sounds so smooth like it is just one single hit imo.
I would be interested in hearing some ways of trying to give it more punch.
sorry for the confusion with 'punch' and 'boom' lol

well when you are layering pre filtering are you enveloping both sounds into one coherent sound?

I dont know what you mean exactly so probably not!
Do you export the sound and then do something else to the sound as one?

not necessarily i gen envelope my layers so it sounds like one sound then send to a group buss and process from there

and how do you do that? export the sounds together then import into a sampler?

heh watch whole thing
been a min since i seen it might not be theirs
as i recall they are using like 10 layers of drum hits for that beat
covers basic enveloping and eq work too
