This is a sign that 2012 really is going to be the end. Get much more retarded than people are now and it's going to rip open the fabric of space-time.

And then there's this...

Failbook's New "Open Graph" User (and friends of Users) Data Grab (link)

Their tentacles creep ever so slowly and unobtrusively across the web... but now they're really digging into not only your personal habits, but the personal habits of those you know - and larger trends like what people like you tend to buy and why, and how to trigger "cascade effects" among user groups aimed at creating marketing campaigns.
wolf89 wrote:I don't get shitloads of spam like that to be honest. I get loads of messages about dubstep/dnb/house nights from the promoters who put nights on but as that's why I had joined the groups in the first place I don't think it counts as spam
I don't mean in your FB inbox: I mean in the inboxes of personal email accounts outside of FB.

I have 3 yahoo accounts, a gmail account, and my work email account (which was stupidly my primary logon ID) - and my work email account progressively started getting hammered with more and lamer spam than ever before. So I switched it to one of my yahoo accounts which was pristine as far as being on the spammers' radar, and guess what? Slowly but surely it started to trickle in right after, and now the volume is comparable to that of what I was getting in my work inbox.

My company (which does a lot of client communication via email) has also come to the conclusion that FB is reselling info off any cookies you may have left in your cache, based on emails sent by competitors to our customers after they'd contacted us for our services. In every single case (and many clients were alarmed, thinking that we were the ones doing the reselling) the lowest common denominator was - you guessed it - FB.

And again people, it's not too much of a stretch to imagine - like I said, if they're NOT reselling our info then what's their business model? Cool guys trying to help everyone connect and hoping the fucking money fairy will sprinkle them with gold dust? Of course not. How many of their sidebar ads have you bought things off of in your entire time on FB? Probably not much if anything. So where's the capital coming from then?

Well, it's coming from you, actually.

Facebook is like Soylent Green: it's made of people.

Oh Please! And to think I was the one who told her to listen to some, I should have really been more specific.

Martin Harrison - was in a shop in America and I swore I heard a bit of cheeky dubstep playing, as I proceed to the check out my English accent is revealed, and the sales lady is like "OMG! Are you British? Have you ever heard of Caspa?". Bless.
This guy got bullied through 6th form, tried out for the basketball team once and never came back bless him, biggest hipster/scene kid I know... you know, skinny jeans, greasy long hair swept over the face, maybe a lip piercing, those hunch back innocent poses for photos... fuckin kill them all... I'm debating whether to go see plastician friday night, as the flyer states house/electro/DUB/mashup, I commented on the wall expressing my views and about 10 agreed and 1 guy goes, "IT'S CALLED ABBREVIATION M8"
