Thanks for that.
It works way better with ASIO 4 ALL.

nowaysj wrote:Does the vdrum output audio? Or is it just a midi triggering device?
Midi lag is usually a few ms, even for a super accurate drummer that is pretty tight. Audio lag however can be quite a bit more. My intuition, without looking at your situation, is that your midi is tight enough, but the lag that you are hearing is from the audio. Could explain better but falling asleep.
Apologies to brigadierjc for hijacking your thread..I'm glad you sorted it out with ASIO4ALL
To nowaysj...I'm using the Vdrums to trigger midi BUT I haven't tried this with ASIO4ALL drivers...I'll give it a go. Thanks for your help mate

if on a budget peep the focusrite saphire 6 usb
midi is a tricky subject since most interfaces are via usb. old school 5 pin din connections are always the best bet and if on a tower drivers make all the diff when using a pci or usb midi interface.
i wouldn't trade my e-mu midi 2x2 for anything atm since it keeps great time and was like 40$

Uhm Tascam US-144 MKII here running on Windows 7 Ultimate 64 Bit with the native Win 7 drivers off the Tascam page. No problem whatsoever, 12ms latency on lowest settings, no crackle even when playing with u-he's ACE.

heh my only gripe with the tascam's now that they fixed their drivers on mk2 is that you have balanced ins etc but why the fuck do you have unbalanced outs on it
xlr, trs inputs and rca/spdif outs wtf was it designed in korea or some shit! that and use some standard pentameters (knobs on it) that can be used replaced instead of those low profile huge pos that are on it. /end rant
