Disagreed. Sines and squares have different qualities in subbass land, so for those reading this, I advise quite the opposite: get creative!

I dont think people should get creative with low end stuff. All of that is wasted on standard systems. I like my sub to do one thing, shame the room. Other sounds higher up with create my groove, the sub just goes alone with it to add weight.

sine is definitely the easiest, agreed. but easiest doesn't = best. hmmm listen to Bar9 - Shaolin Style (Rob Sparx Remix). Best example of how different waveforms hitting the same sub note can sound vastly different. One of my favorite tunes from Rob for that reason.
