the problem is what he said to provoke the spitting is beeped out, and i'm guessing there was probably things said before the video started. maybe he should of just gone for the right hook instead of spitting but there was obvious provocation.

Inciting more violence and hatred is obviously a good way of promoting racial equality

er, yes you do.
lets see it then. go on..
So if it isn't on youtube then it doesn't happen in your world? Fair enough.

Take a look at your history books, might want to cast your eye here for starters http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=e1WMBiYSCOM

America has a long history of racially fuelled political violence.

whatever, it isn't a yours is worse than ours thing. Democracy as a political ideology is a joke full stop.

The bnp can rot as wel.
we spent 40 years eradicating our racism and our civil rights chaos. its a dark time in our history. those ugly discrimination days are fading fast; gone, by no means.

this is 2010, and the BNP has been active in your country for at least 30 years, and is still in 2010 allowed to canvas for votes. how is this possible? how can england as a country try and show the world that its the most progressive and democratic country, when a party like the bnp is rotting its very foundations?

americans chose to eradicate the kkk, and although they exist, they are 1/16th of the size that they were 40 years ago. we've made progress, and we're by no means perfect. what has England done on this issue?

I thought democracy was about letting people make their own choices and letting their voices be heard? How does enforcing silence on a group of people promote democracy?

there's several types of democracy. your country chooses a democracy lead by your parliament. your elected parliament has universal control over your country. the parliament has even more power than your legal system. the US democracy operates differently, in that we separate our governments powers into organs (state, federal, judiciary, congress, house of representatives, etc).

both our countries operate on the mandate of free speech, but in modern times with the growth of liberal democracy, this freedom of speech has come with society's prerequisites....ie...equal rights without discrimination. this is what i don't understand about how the BNP is still allowed to persist? they clearly discriminate, in a open way as well.

I don't understand - Surely you answered your own question, the BNP is allowed to persist because our country operates on the mandate of free speech. We're not in a position to go around closing down political parties who commit no crime in promoting their views, lest we become as fascist as the BNP themselves.

Seckle, i dare to challenge your words... I am sure the amount of extremists in your nation is way higher than in the UK... or elsewhere in the northern hemisphere.

The Arizona state laws passed THIS WEEK. That stamps all over the equal rights without discrimination crap.
Nuff said.

I'm Asian - I'd prefer my racism up front - at least I'd know what I was up against.

EDIT: When I said twat earlier, I was reffering to the prick that spat - why rise to what some other prick in a suit paki-bashing is saying?

No matter how much any of us disagrees with the BNP, they have the right to canvas as much as any other party.

Spitting is a really, horrible, shitty way of trying to convey your message of disagreement in a modern, open democracy.

I hope they all die in a fire.

All they did by spitting and getting into a fight with them is enforce the views that the BNP already hold.

They're so bloody stupid. If you're gonna start a fight like that at least make a point of winning it. The racist BNP are probably loling in their roflcopters right now, best publicity they could have.

of course we have extremists. we're a bigger country. the point here is that our dressed up extremists are attached to the right wing conservatism; i guess similar to your ultra royalist torys. in both our country's the ultra right wing conservatives are corrupt beyond belief, but they don't need to resort to violence. we have our extremist fringe groups, and so do you. the difference is that these fringe groups would never make it in our election system at the national level (arizona aside, as they've run a twisted puppet gov for years, and are well known supporters of bigotry.)

a bnp candidate in your country said that "Rape is simply sex. Women enjoy sex, so rape cannot be such a terrible ordeal." W T F????
http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/uk_news/politics/7326987.stm

my point is how do people like this even become candidates? how is it that he's even allowed to build a constituency?

Because it's a democracy where anyone can stand, unlike somewhere like Iran or Burma.

in a nutshell, discrimination and separatism is OKAY in dear old England.
