yeah i see where your coming from man and i actually agree with you...JimmaJamJamie wrote:Can't help think that elements from other songs have kinda been put together in this song and it makes it feel a bit unimaginative.
It has the drums & the synth from 'Wait' and then the same snare as 'Level 9'. Nice sounding tune but Mala can make a lot more innovative sounds.
It doesnt have the same snare as level9 ...and u cant say it has parts taken from i wait....how do u know he didnt want to make a 2nd edition to the style he used in i wait?..if u didnt notice all the sounds synth and bass from i wait are on this tune..the tunes massive tho.swiftguyver wrote:yeah i see where your coming from man and i actually agree with you...JimmaJamJamie wrote:Can't help think that elements from other songs have kinda been put together in this song and it makes it feel a bit unimaginative.

i still fucking love this tune though...even if it is not one of Mala's most innovative productions...
VIBES!!!
Right at the start it has a snare that has loads delay on it, both Wait and Level 9 have this.Mr Mechanicz wrote:It doesnt have the same snare as level9 ...and u cant say it has parts taken from i wait....how do u know he didnt want to make a 2nd edition to the style he used in i wait?..if u didnt notice all the sounds synth and bass from i wait are on this tune..the tunes massive tho.
Chill out mate, i was just saying that if it wasn't a Wait VIP then it isn't the most innovative of songs but it is, so thats not the case.chef wrote:It's got elements of I wait in there because, wait for it........ it is I wait.. a VIP of it... duh. How much more innovative, creative (or whatever over used words people love to throw around on here to sound kool) does a VIP need to be?
Is every snare that has loads of reverb (80% of Dubstep) the same? No I didnt think so.
Big up
Can't agree but won't argueJimmaJamJamie wrote:Right at the start it has a snare that has loads delay on it, both Wait and Level 9 have this.Mr Mechanicz wrote:It doesnt have the same snare as level9 ...and u cant say it has parts taken from i wait....how do u know he didnt want to make a 2nd edition to the style he used in i wait?..if u didnt notice all the sounds synth and bass from i wait are on this tune..the tunes massive tho.
Yeah he could of wanted to make 'Wait 2' like he did with Conference or something. I am not hating mate, its still a sick tune. I am just making a point that it is not Mala's most innovative or creative tune.
quidz wrote:Its kinda silly to say that it has the same snare as this tune and elements from that tune, therefore it is less innovative, when that is blatantly what producers do, stick with similar samples they like and evolve the sound over time, thats how you can tell its them and what defines their style.
Sample wise listen to how close mountain dread march is to blue notez, level 9 to education, or return to spaces snares with the ones in too much chat.
They are all different and equally dope tunes, yet they all sound like malas sound because of the similar and/or same samples used.
Anyway, the bottom line is I wait VIP is a lovely update of a tune we all know and love.
Big show that one by the way chef.. always a real good spectrum coming from you which is great for someone like me to keep in the loop with all the fresh dubplates that are being played on the other side of the world from me.
Yeah i do agree mate, i was just saying that it was a little too much like Wait.
