Amazing responses guys, thanks a lot.
Unrelated question now that I've already made a thread:
Say I make a cool-sounding bass in Massive. Now, it has a LOT of bass because one of the oscillators is really low. Is this how the sweet deep basslines are made OR do you have to cut out certain low frequences from the synth itself so that it doesn't overwhelm, for instance, kicks, which are also low?
I was checking out some tutorials and I'm under the impression that sub-bass is governed by a separate oscillator, but the bass I made in Massive sounds like it already has those super-low frequencies filled up.
I hope you see what I'm saying. Am I mistaken or does this really depend on what I'm trying to do?

Personally if I were playing with a mid range bass sound I'd want to cut that somewhere above the kick so it doesn't interfere and then use a separate osc for sub bass (Massive is overload for sub bass, so if in FL Studio for instance, just use the 3xOsc and play the same notes as your mid range to add that sub weight).

Assign an lfo to the filter cut off.
Really tho, I am a crack head for designing bass sounds. I really never finish anything because I'd rather just toy around with waveforms and harmonics...

Don't follow tutorials too closely. You can make your sub by farting in an empty shower if you want. Whatever works. It might be
easier to make a higher bass, then do the sub as a pure sine. That might be the right way to do it. But if you have a bline and a bsound you like, work with it. Maybe notch the bass out in the vicinity of the kick, so the kick has room. Maybe sidechain an eq on the bass that cuts the notch only when the kick hits. Or just don't put kicks where there are bass hits. No one said you have to use a kick in your track, even to make dance tracks. What separates a kick from a bass... only a name.

Fixed?
If you read it you would have clearly understood what he meant and you wouldn't have wasted your time on that post.
You told me.
Nothing like a good disciplining.
And I agree, I shouldn`t have added my brain fart to this discussion.
Nothing good to say, I should have STF-up.
