Alright smarty pants, u missed this one. When you allow a signal's own amplitude to determine the amount of compression, rather than a secondary signal's amplitude, you do just have regular old compression. DON'T KNOW WHY I HAD TO CLEAR THAT UP.

In fl, they are cut groups.

I just drop my drum samples into audio tracks and just chop off the end of the sample right where the next one starts. But yeah, if you using a sampler just set it to 1 voice. :e:
