as much as i doubt the picture discs, i really want to know what mala meant by both version

yea great response, their was no doubt that if people continued to have problems with the record that mala, s.t holdings and transition would do their utmost to try and sort it out.

Respect for the educated response. It's a shame still having to adjust the weight for one song (also apparently having an under-weighted needle causes a fair bit of wear to your plates), but it's definitely worth it the 10 seconds to adjust.

Only mala could produce a track with enough weight so make your needles fuck up. :P:

Very humble of you.

An email response with that much detail shows what a gent Mala is, and how much he actually cares about what he puts out to the masses.
Nothing but respect for Mala.

underweight or weighted correctly?? cos most people i know just have the weight on their needles on full all the time, jus cos they think thats what you gotta do

dont take this to be patronising in any case, im jus sayin, i used to jus have the weight on full and the anti-skate on full, i only recently adjusted all that shit

the only thing ive heard tho is that having the weight on full minimises treble pickup from the vinyl and the lighter the needle the more treble response, also how does having a lighter needle weight cause MORE wear to the vinyl??

edit: yeah in both cases of over weighting and underweighting you get mistracking which causes wear!

i was a bit disappointed in the beginining that i didnt get the picture discs but now looking at them im not really bothered lol. there really isnt much too them.

the same with the actual cover. seeing as its not like a normal 3 pack cover and opens up sort of like a book, you would think there would be something interesting on the inside for that reason. but its just the same picture thats on the front of stars lol. its a minor tho really.

Dont know if I have missed something, but surprised this hasn't been mentioned. Is DMZLP001 counted at DMZ016 now then?

It's counted as DMZ015, DMZ016 and DMZ017. Look on the back of the cover or look at the etchings and it'll tell you. Mala always said it was a triple pack rather than an album.

I have it on good authority that the first 200 pressed were pic discs, which made me really hopeful that i would get one.

Now that I have seen them, im not too fussed, they look quite weird tbh.

Still a sick release.

interesting... I wouldn't have thought Mala would ever go for a picture disc since non-black vinyl is supposed to sound slightly 'not as good' or so a lot of engineers have stated...
I like'em though. does anyone know how the distribution of the picture discs went ? as in were they just sent to some lucky/unlucky shops whoever got the first batches or were they mixed in randomly so they could pop up anywhere ?
