yeah i agree, the problem is probably coming from your sequencer, not massive. massive's fine.

It's not exactly fine. He hasn't got his routing set up properly so the output is quieter and he's having to increase the final main volume knob to get the sound up to a satisfactory level, possibly causing distortion.

That would only go quiet to him perceptually, it wouldnt create a change in power levels, thats the idea behind fletcher munson, is that just cause they are the SAME power level doesnt mean they have to same perceived volume

I copied your massive settings and tried this out and i think i may have found the cause,
i don't know why this is but when there is a midi note that goes all the way to the end of the region, and then there is another region right after that one with a midi note on the first beat, it seems to cause a change in volume of about 6db.
I'm not sure what causes this but when i shortened the midi note so it wasn't right up against the start of the next region the change in volume stopped.
This picture might help explain:
Image

as you can see the note starting at 2.3 ends where the note starting on 3 begins. and this is where the change in volume occurred, but as soon as i shortened the note starting on 2.3 so it wasn't touching the one on 3 it all stayed the same volume.
i really can't think why this is, maybe something to do with legato?

but yeah other than shortening the midi notes the only work around i could think of would be to bounce one bar of it to audio and then just use that instead of having it playing through massive

thats strange...sure its not to do with the synth being set to monophonic or something?

but yeah, they're not actually overlapping in that picture though, just right next to each other, thats what confused me.

If the synth was monophonic it would just switch to the next note and cut the one before out, not cut them both out completely. But yeh it's strange, I got a few weird glitches going on at the moment (since the last update). Did you do the little hold ctrl thing to be absolutely sure they're not overlapping?

I'm going to dig up the Logic thread because this has made me think of two things I need to bitch about right now!

ah right, I wasn't sure whether you meant one note or both. yeah dunno what thats about, i think it could well be something to do with the update, cause i still haven't downloaded it(lazy) and it's not happening with mine.
and yeah i did, they're not definitely not overlapping, but i tried it again today and noticed when i took the filter and legato off in massive it stopped the change in volume, so i guess its something to do with that.
