I make the actual sounds and music in other programs

I arrange in acid
I love the automation, layout and ESPECIALLY love the sends. So easy and simple :')

Why lump Reason together with DAW software... no audio -- reason is a Midi workstation.

BTW, does ANYONE else use MOTU DP??

yeah thats why i didn't put it with the other ones like cubase or reaper......

but you can still play audio files in it so i don't see why its that different

You can trigger samples of audio files, but can't even begin to edit audio, can't scrub audio, can't monitor a sample's content unless played from the trigger point (annoying for long samples, no biggie for REX's and 1-shots)... can't see waveforms, etc.
and of course no audio is going in. Some consider these minor details, I see qualities of an entirely different tool than a DAW.

every block of data in Reason is 100% midi. We know this, i know. but still, people call it a DAW.
