fl studioonly works for windows, unless you partition your drives..

Realistically if one DAW was ACTUALLY better than the other it would be clear and evident and everyone would go with the better, fact of the matter is that ALL THESE PROGRAMS DO THE EXACT SAME THING AS EACH OTHER IN ONE WAY OR ANOTHER and therefore its simply about finding the system that works for you. Its simply all layout based, i assure you ableton, reason, cubase and fruity etc are all just as capable as each other, and each of the programs has their own set of strengths and weaknesses, im finding from what i see and hear and experience is that good producers dont so much abuse the strengths of a program or rely on a particular synth or setting (otherwise the sound becomes repetitive and doesnt progress) but instead counter the weaknesses in the sounds theyre making, fucking around and playing with random sounds for hours sometimes is the key. before building and tastefully using the abilities of a program in a more technical based manner to achieve the sound you want, you need to fuck around and abuse the shit out of those knobs (LOL). It takes patience. what im saying is you need to just experiment and talk to people and find the right techniques and LURK LOTS OF YOUTUBE TUTORIALS! im only an amateur and im self taught so feedback is very important for me where i feel i want to progress, and where better to get feedback than a forum dedicated to bass and wobbles. but theres so much negativity and elitism here to people asking for advice and feedback. ive only been using this forum a few days and ive already been told off for asking questions and posting tunes etc. im just happy to offer advice where i know ill get some in return if i need it. keep it friendly yall.

If you are planning on using a program that only works on Mac or on PC, then yes, obviously it matters then.

What I meant was that people can make great music on both Mac and PC, it doesn't matter which platform is used because they are equal in their ability as a tool for making music.

It's become a lot easier since this thread was made, all you need nowadays is dubturbo.
