newcastle isnt really that bad for its size. like leeds tho it does shut down when they're arent many students about. 4th bass in boro is awesome n hopefully we'll see you at grounded fest in darlo next week!!!! not all bad in the north east.

Subdub 7th August, same day as unity day which is a mini festival in hyde park in leeds, with live bands and djs and all sorts of shenanigans has kenny ken, serum, rsd, steppa and kitcha and its not that busy in the summer.

Someone was saying about look back at old DMZ/exodus flyers to see the quality one that sticks in my mind was Digital Mystikz & Loefah, Youngsta, Gothtrad, Skream, LD, Kutz, Heny G, Jay 5 and Exodus in room 1 and Alix Perez, D Bridge, Ant TC1, Transit Mafia and Steppa in room 2 in feb 2009 that was suck a sick one you can see loads of the old flyers on he groups as well

well i been going since i was 15 and im 25 now its changed a hell of a lot but back in the day it was at the 'think tank' which is now 'wire' first ever guests were mad professor, johnny clark and horace andy on the same bill.

theres a collection of flyers in the shop which consists of every flyer printed since exodus and subdub began, nuts line ups...make a great clip frame for a wall.

when i started going there was people handing out tea and people sitting on grass with the 2nd room doors open to the side and food being served, kids as young as 8 and people as old as 70 used to go down.

the crowd has changed and the music but its still a very special place.

bunking off skool on a friday to work in a shop so i could afford to go....amazing times :D

It's awesome, two quality sound systems and a lotta big names coming through very often (rarely any shite, unless you're headed to Metropolis) - not to mention DMZ/Exodus every 2 months or so, which is my personal favourite night above anything anywhere else.

It's great here! I don't think I need to add much after what everyone else has said but you really don't need to worry about having a good time or having nights to go to :D

Only 3 night strong and already hosted James Blake, Headhunter, Kutz, Jay 5, Nosaj Thing and TOKiMONSTA. Got some stupid line ups planned for next term as well :D :D :D :D

Is there even any dubstep on at grounded fest or will it be the normal indie tripe I so fondly put up with in Darlo? :D

4th Bass in Boro is ok but gets to many circus and jump up style stuff for me to bother regularly.

Gunna try and make the DMZ/Subdub thing in Leeds though!!

Powah (Huddersfields Dubstep night, co-founded by Exodus a few years back) is also hitting leeds on the 8th of october at Stinkys Peephouse, with the Axis soundsystem and our resident DJs.

Really glad to be a part of the Leeds scene, massive respect to all. Out to sparrow aswell who played a banging set at one of our nights last year, quality!

Anyway, flyer and headliners to be announced soon.. who would you like to see?

I'm also going to leeds this september. Sounds like the scene there is pretty saturated already... What's it like trying to put your name out round there? Would love a late night slot on some local radio station or something...
