To be honest - I'm not really bothered either way. I know a fair amount about synthesis, and I usually have a good ear for spotting samples and presets... but to be honest, the only times I take note of an obvious sample or preset is when it is a weak track to begin with. If a track is great, I simply dont care.

No I wouldnt say it does because syntheis is about creating an original and enjoyable sound, sampling is used to a different effect.
