Okay, I have finally come to the conclusion that FL has a much better and more effective piano roll then that of Ableton. It's just so much faster to move around notes and truly experiment. It seems ableton's piano roll does the job and if you know what melody you want, will easily allow you to punch it in, but doesn't really allow you the space and efficiency to do numerous trial and errors which really is what my music consists of.... I'm not quite sure if that's a bad thing

thats because live was originally designed around live input...shocking right

if you input via midi, youll find the task much easier to do, and since you can just rapidly record bits on different clips (record many short clips for your trial and error technique) it makes it much easier to grab the good bits out of a bunch of sloppy recording takes.

the whole session view itself is the space to do numerous trial and errors, thats exactly what its made for

i know its probably not the answer you want, and the piano roll can still be used to full function by clicking around, but having midi controllers makes live what it is imo
