Got it delivered to me today. Kong is a BEAST! Will never use ReDrum again. Not had a chance to test out live sampling or blocks yet, But to be honest I couldn't see me using them much anyway. New interface is cool though:P

Indeed. Hated how my favourite samples used to sound a bit off when loaded into Redrum. Not anymore with King Kong. The built in effects are sweet as well got things sounding a lot punchier. Still got my Hats gated out to a Redrum for the step sequencer and shuffle though, gets things going a little quicker.
Loving the new sampling. Got my final output routed to the sampling inputs using a splitter. Been sampling basses straight into the NNXT without having to export loops and ting.

AAHHHHH so thats how you do it, fucking nice, resampling in reason is now faster and easier than ableton 8 for me.
Gonna make this split in my default rack as i will be using it a-fucking-lot.
Also, the low end seems to have more weight now, i think they have taken/merged alot from Record,
The GIU looks very similar, and the routing has been tweaked a lil too.
1. Easier Resampling
2. Better sound engine (maybe)
3. Big Meter!
My 3 excuses to happily jump back on the Reason bandwagon again.

anyone know how to route each kong pad to a separate track on a mixer?

Route the audio outs on the back of Kong, 1-2, 3-4 etc to a mixer channel. Press on the pad you want to route ie kick/snare and change the routing under 'Drum Output' at the bottom of Kong from Master FX to 1-2,3-4 etc. so you can have as many pads going to one output or just one if you want to treat things separately.

Is this available with just Reason 5 (and not record)? Sounds good.

Yeah, and you can also take samples out of the record demo for use in reason, or wherever.

Had it installed for a week and decided to give it a shot yesterday. Why no computer keyboard as midi keyboard? It's standard in every other DAW! Even fruityloops!
Being told I have to get Jack and Bome's Virtual Keyboard. Got both, but can't figure out how to install Jack - its just a pack of strange files, info has a load of technical info about building an installer for windows.
Can someone give me an idiots guide to get this working? I can't make music without being able to play melodies/beats live.

I thought this was a new feature on Reason 5? I haven't checked as I don't need to, but i'm sure the press info included it.
My fav new addition is running kong into redrum and in turn into a mixer. Nice fresh kicks and snares
