appreciate everyone thats giving me love. I want to say that before I was into D&B, my musical background was embedded in dub/reggae. There's nothing new about what I am doing really. Some of you may not realize it but a few of the tunes I have put out on Narco.Hz are 5-6 years old. I have a hard drive full of 140 riddims from back when I started making beats. All of them are straight reggae/dub.

Dunno why I am going on and on.. Just felt that maybe some heads have no clue where my music is coming from..

blam!

nope, never will. i say let kemal be at peace for the rest of his years. he deserves it.

 good luck with that. josh needs to straighten his ass out first.

though you know, i had a conversation with josh many years ago when i was visiting him at his work. he was going on about how he was interested in working on music that had more spacial elements. he said dnb was too fast and all the sound is squished together.

he mentioned working on something about the tempo of breaks would be nice because there would be more space. i wonder if he knows about dubstep? he doesnt listen to electronic music at all. he's a rock n roller.

As an old school Phunckateck extended family(midwest representative) member it comes as no surprise to hear dubstep out of ya. I've known Ed and Laura for years so I've heard ya from waaaaaaay back, I've always appreciated your more "dub" sound. All they have to do is hear the Koka rmx from the engraved disc(GOT IT& vibrator ) and they would understand. Keep up the good work at all bpms and know you've got a customer for life. LONG LIVE PHUNCKATECK!! man I miss that crew

We infected his head when he was in Indy last Oct. I played my first dustep set out of the bedroom in his presence. Dude flipped out. Be on the lookout. I have some of his older lower tempo shit that may work, hmmmm

Fuckin' A. Ed was my favoritest dj in the world in the late 90's. That would be tight if he started fucking with some dubstep.

Wasn't Digital supposed to be making some dubstep? I was really looking forward to hearing that.

Shards wrote:Agreed. I think the Norwegians could have a good crack at it- K/Polar was a Breakbeat & Atmosphere Technician before his time, but apparently damaged his hearing beyond repair? Teebee's not as abstract, but shares that ability. And Future Prophecies released some excellent pioneering half-step bizniz in their first releases.
i couldnt name any non-liquid d&b producers who could do WORSE than these guys. teebee etc dont have the dubby funk the likes of juju, its just too cold and boring.

kemal would be interesting - made some great tunes, tho cant say i mind some of the tech itch dubstep tunes - better than the d&b he's made for a few years.

I suppose, I refuse to buy anything Tech Itch puts out after hearing him walk in to the Indianapolis DnB night and mumble(couldn't actually talk, too f-ed up) "I'm not f-in playin here". Apparantly he was "sick" LOL As for the other thread on here about not goin the way of DnB here's another example of what not to do! Leave your ego, He spat in the faces of several of his loyal listeners/purchasers of his music.

Anyone else had this kemal conversation before?

Mayhems dubstep is on point. We have a few of Mayhems tunes lined up on Dubline. Juju's Punks has me waiting for his next release. ASC is making sick dubstep under his Intex System monkier, also signed to Dubline. Been digging some of Skynets stuff as well. Signal of Robot Death Squad and Krang of Robot Death Squad are both also writing some very good dubstep music.
