hmmmm... i do the opposite nowadays,
i send it to a buss & then return in another audio track & record.
that way I record what I hear. things always sound different when ya bounce them!
espesh when im playing around with delayed feedback loops.... which ya can only capture live!
I record effects chains exactly the same... takes up alot of room... but atleast its still 24 bit.
all about assigning the knobs & making crazy sounds for me!

So it is decided, being on the lash for 2 days is the most likely way your audio will be degraded.

ok sorry to revive this thread, but im having a problem with something.

i think i understand sample rates & bit depth, but im not sure about which i should use for re sampling.

say i make a bass by layering 3 synths together. 1 sub, 1 middy range, and 1 higher range & with stereo width. I then want to bounce out a ten second audio file playing a single note, so i can re-import to DAW and pitch up& down, add more FX, put in a sampler, whatever...

is is better to use 44 or 196, considering that the post-bounce manipulation done on the audio file could be quite drastic

i think i understand nyquest, & i know the ear cant pick up anything over 22khz, but what about when im pitching the sample, will a lower sample rate have more aliasing or something?

Just use the sample rate of your project.

196 is never necessary for any reason IMO. 19.5k is the cutoff range of a 320kbps mp3 so it's pretty much useless to go over 48hz, which is the audio quality of most movies.
