All That Remains are sick, they played with killswitch a few times...too much screaming for me these days though. 'The Fall of ideals' too good

surely a thread on DSF should have SOMETHING to do with dubstep!?

Nothing like killswitch engage from back in the day. I'm talkin HELLFEST 2002 when they has jesse on vocs. new stuff is good only when choosing their track on games like needs for speed. something about howards voice brings such motivation to succeed in a street race.

I'm all about late 90's/2000 metalcore - Cast from Eden, 7 Angels 7 Plagues, Coma Eternal, Prayer for Cleansing, Misery Signals (old)

check out my old band if interested...

ATDI were sick. Saw Converge in '04 or '05 (don't recall exactly). 'The Saddest Day' is one epic bastard of a tune. Proper stagedive material.

Most metalcore is a snoozefest though. There's only so many ways you can rip off At The Gates.

yeah, i'm more into metal with some testosterone.
:x

metalcore is sposed t be the tuff stuff - fukn emo kids fukn everything up wif der nu-age goth antics - proper fucked up the scene here.

5150s & palm muting is ill n killswitch r ok in small doses but fuked if I kno wots goin on these days...
I love 5150's :D

I do not like this band, they seem the same as bfmv

just random breakdowns and interludes that aren't that great but really commercially accesible (for some reason)

Some tracks are 'aight but I don't get where all this praise for 'em comes from?

edit: 5150's are beasts, what does this thread have to do with dubstep though?

DEP is crazy too (43% burnt???), saw them loads of times and will never get enough :) live performance is just obliterating..
and then well yeah KSE.. ghaay! whats so special about that band.. i never really got it

anyone checked the new converge stuff by the way?
'Axe to fall' is almost comming out, new song up on myspace, OHW YEAH BABY 8)

YOUR BLOODY AVATAR IS CONVERGE! :o
Oops. I meant I don't like the new metalcore eg KsE, Unearth and what have you. The slightly older stuff like Converge and Botch is more my cup of tea

this.............

7 angels 7 plagues were pretty good.....saw them play a loong time ago. use to be all about that mid to late 90's new england stuff as well, namely hydrahead records: cave in, botch, isis, etc

Killswitch Engage are so boring. Get into some metal with some balls

Oh yeah and their guitarist said possibly the most retarded thing I've ever heard anyone say on stage which was "this next one goes out to your girl friend's pussy"

What a dick

I'm glad I caught ISIS before they broke up as well. pretty funny that this thread is back up. I recently went into my vault and added a shit load of older metalcore/hardcore/death albums to my iphone. It's soo funny how music has changed in all genres. I really miss when metal bands were all about the music they wrote. Fuckin kids these days are all about fitted caps and purple t-shirts these days, they dont give two shits about the music.

That's because you're listening to metal subgenres with the phrase "core" in the name
