I've created a design and have been talking to a couple of carpenters about the project. Their worry is that wood may not be structurally capable of holding the design together. One option is to use hardwoods (which would provide the structural integrity) or to use metal.
Due to the price of hardwoods, I have two choices; either buy a prebuilt desk (which start at £550) or buy an actuator lift column set and find a company to weld a frame together for me...
Here's the design I would find useful. My PC would sit on the right hand bottom shelf.
I'm going to do a full thread on building custom desks with photo's and other useful tips once I've completed this project for myself.
