i use 2 different setups, ones just timecode on vdj with 2 serato vinyls andan american audio versaport which can bepicked up for like100 alltogether andworks really lushly
or my main setup cause i dont have any space in my house to have my decks out is set up thesame way youdrun timecode but instead of having decks i just use this little hercules controller so the laptop and controller are just acting like a pair of cdjs and i do my actual mixer on my mixer
at first i didnt like it,but over time it grew on me andnow i find it a hell of a lot more fun than mixing on vinyl cause it gives me more time to get more technical with it

Got a lappy, vestax vci100, and the m-audio fast track pro, which works great.

you need the dj i/o - although you should of just bought the omni which is the same as the stealth but with a soundcard built in.

it was a bday present so i didnt have to pay for it anyways... its not that bad without headphones atm coz its not like im playing out or anything, i just have to do all my beatmatching over the speakers for time being, still helps me get my eye in. I'll probably get the i/o when i next get paid.

Never understood the whole format protectionism thing. I've seen people kill it on Ableton/Serato/Traktor and have seen drunk DJs tank on 1200's. I get the whole "checking your e-mail" thing but honestly, the worst offenders are live performers, not DJs. I swear I spent an hour and some change looking at the top of Mount Kimbie's heads a few weeks back: they should shave in some funny designs so we could have something to look at.

If you lot didn't know there is a free demo of Traktor Pro to download on there site:
http://www.native-instruments.com/#/en/ ... /?page=377
You can use it as many times as you want but after 30mins the program closes itself.
