My set up...
I know its the worst thing EVER not to hav speakers at ear hieght. Im saving up for stands & decent speaker cable. Otherwise i think I'v got a pretty sweet set up. H/K Amp & Cd player Technic 1210's Serato!

Covertly placing return II space (and what looks like an omni trio album) up to win brownie points from the SNH

finally got another 2 * 2 the other week so I'm delighted with this now, monitors at the same height and nothing too squashed on my super long expedit...yas!

monitors on the same surface as your decks frank.... smh
no point having decent speakers if you don't isolate them
looks good other than that though

yea just snag some mopads
would also help to prevent any potential needle skips due to bass from speakers vibrating the surface your decks are on

I knoooooowwwww....I need wee speaker stands or something. What I will say though is now the speakers are far enough away that I don;t get any feedback (or minimal anyways) whereas when everything was all squashed up I couldn't turn the bass up as my cones would start bouncing about.
Any linage for some speaker stands or ideas on how to modify this expedit so my monitors stand alone?

isolating pads will do the job on a budget but i'd recommend some proper stands if you have the money. i used to have mopads but they aren't as good
my stands are these
http://www.amazon.co.uk/Atacama-Nexus-H ... B00133ZBXE and got rave reviews on what hifi considering the price compared to some out there on the market. need to fill them up with sand to get the best out of them (and better stability) which i haven't done yet because i keep moving about heh
mopads are here

and yeah this. your needles are basically microphones so having them on the same surface as some speakers that are probably going to be on very loud is a perfect way to get worse sound than is necessary
