what? it's the truth haha
That is not the truth at all. Reason is totally capable.
WRONG
again i make all my synth work in reason
have a listen
especially the 2nd or 3rd tracks

one
Theres not alot you cant do with massive.

But synths are synths man, they come in many different forms, and Reason has all you need.

kingGhost wrote:the sounds in those songs are different than the ones in the OP video, to my ears. and where does it say they were created exclusively in reason (no rewiring, etc)? listen, i never said you couldn't do a lot with reason. i fucking love reason. just there's certain sounds massive can make that reason can't. or at least won't unless you find the perfect combo of filters, settings, and fx. and there's definitely some things other DAW's can do that reason cannot. whether or not you care (i don't) is up to you.
I don't have the time or the will to write out a detailed explanation
see? why bother when massive could create the sounds rather easily
wow man

btw those tracks are all made exclusively on Reason

i don't use massive. i use reason exclusively.
This made me laugh I find it highly amusing you use Reason "exclusively" yet you don't believe you can achieve those sounds within the software.
You clearly don't use it enough and have no sense of sound design or basic knowledge of synthesis. DOES NOT COMPUTE

Soundcloud
any chance the offer could be extended to me? :) i've been using reason for my whole 4 months of producing, and i gotta say i'm learning more and more every day, but i've hit another wall and i'm struggling to get past it.

btw, is this what is known as a post hijack?.... my apologies if it is, i'm a bit forum retarded as well.

A synth is a synth and they all can do near enough the same thing.

Massive is the easiest synth to use for making that kind of sound ur after. Reason can do it but its going to take some practice and more than one synth and skill to get it good.

sure if you just go on my soundcloud and and tell me which songs you like the synths of I would be more than happy to break it down for you

Comparitivly speaking, Reasons filters suck, and 8/10 good wobble bass consists of pro Filter Cutoff usage, just sayin.

a lot of said synth noises that are being sought after actually do not use LFO > Filter Cutoff
and the Filter Cutoff (all of them) on Thor sounds pretty good anyway

Yeah not always but generaly speaking they are. and yeah thors are an improvement but even still i think reasons biggest letdown software-wise is its filters...
And not just the filters themselves i also feel filter controll is lacking unless you litteraly start drawing waveforms after "editing automation" on the filter cutoff slider witch is a mission.

So like any synth reason may very welll be capable, but imo, its not worthwhile, i can see a clear difference in the OPs vid sound campared to the Hench and Widdler tunes, the latter both sounding similar, they have that maelstrom sound gwarnin. Can you make DUTYY WABBLE bass in reason? yeah. Can you make the sound in OPs vid? probaly, but ive yet to see it, and to achieve that sound in reason alone you would have to modulate stuff to such an extreme extent, further manipulation to said sound would become 10 times harder then any other synth.(providing you didnt even resample...If you did GL wit that)

Wanna make that sound? go use massive, just dont be suprised when a load of Dubstep producers pwn you with there anti-massive-wobble trigger fingers.

There is absolutely no sound Reason can not make, granted some sounds may be tougher but in the end understanding how to achieve any sound in reason teaches you amazing sound design skills,
Reason is great for this reason... especially for beginners, if you take the time to try and learn everything in reason you realize you can achieve anything (you just usually need to route backdoor methods, which creates uniques and true comprehension)

You make a good point, if you was to make it in reason you would have a far better understanding of the sound itself. For sure.

keep digging man.
lots of BEAST dubstep artists use reason exclusively so i find it hard to believe people are hating on it. Coki? Mala?
Decree is making some ruff ass tunes with reason.
also that lead bass doesnt sound all that complicated. layer a couple oscillators, lfo to cutoff, disortion

That's the biggest lol about this thread. The sounds aren't even anything special or out of the ordinary XD except maybe one swipe thing I heard come in once and I have a feeling it may have been a processed sample from a film or something anyway..

Didn't know Funtcase used Reason - his shit is filthier than filth! If that doesn't attest to the quality of reason's synths - alongside The Widdler, Mala etc then nothing will!
On another note an awesome Dubstep trio called Statix also use Reason exclusively and they are awesome!
