Yeah, Pole and the whole ~Scape label always bring the glitchy dub-weight, you might also check out Kit Clayton, Donnatcha Costello, Ekkehard Ehlers, Auch, and most anything off of the now defunct Force Inc. Kompakt is also putting out some great dubstyled 12's as well.

both these are wicked. the ep i heard first, at a french cafe on ave b. on the lower east side in 99 maybe. i asked the waiter what it was, he told me and i excused myself and RAN to ethereal on ave a. and bought it immediately. i cant ever remember doing something like that...
i also listened to the ep on 33rpm for about two weeks, then it occured to me to listen to it at 45...
ahhhhh, a whole new experience...

hmm. pole- yes pole. I love pole. bass so heavy that it surrounds one in a thick fog of warm vibes of meditative tranquility. Its almost as if , when listening to his music that the sounds are not even coming from the speakers but are actually vibrating from the walls and windows(especially when you crank up the volume with decent speakers). Well the walls and windows actually do vibrate but it sounds as if the sound is actually eminating from them instead of through them.

yes he was a vinyl cutter at dubplates-mastering,that time belong to basic channel
so he got nothin to do with Rhythm & Sound or Basic Channel

pole1, pole 2 and pole 3 (albums are numered, on matador records for the u.s.), are almost equally acceptable for the best pole releases.

Check "Delay" by Dub Tractor as well. Only that album, the rest are a bit crap. Heavy, pre dubstep dubstep bidness.

thanks for digging up this thread, i was meaning to thank clone for introducing me to Pole. Love the depth of atmosphere, reminds me of Burial a bit with the crackles and pops.

I think it's important for any lover of Burial to pick up the first Pole trilogy. If Burial doesn't cite Pole among his influences, I'd be surprised.
