Faith is a decent venue, but always seems to have terrible nights on. Is it even open anymore?
Faith is called Sin now and it's absolutely terrible. Pretty much agree with everything in this thread.

@dfrnt: Dunno if it's all about promotion really; I rarely see a numbers or fortified flier or poster without already knowing about the night through here or facebook, if you have something good going on people will come looking for it.

It's all down to the clubs themselves I reckon, there's no real "ravers's club" if you know what I mean, it's just a selection of venues with some nights going on. If you were smart, you would be making links with the promoters in Glasgow and taking their acts from Friday and putting them on Saturday like Girl Unit/James Blake/Joker/Ben UFO/Oneman/rah rah rah, if they're already up here it's little bother to get to Edinburgh.

Saying this, I don't live there so I could be chatting shit.

@kid robotik: Started following you on soundcloud.

Tried to do this a few times in the past, to no avail. When it work's it works well and cuts down the costs a fair bit. I run Fortified and am always open to suggestions.

I've looked a number of times at starting a night - something for deep and techno-influenced style, nothing too brash, tasteful with some good names. But finding a venue is a nightmare.

Caves is actually a nice venue - but I think they might be lacking somewhat in the soundsystem department.

Yeah man the caves is a really cool venue but the soundsystem is terrible. The Heard it Through the Bassline line-ups are sometimes wasted by the system.

What about that place down from the Hive, I think Elektrikal & Massie had Crissy Kris there a few weeks ago, can't remember of the name of the venue though! It looked pretty decent and small enough for a deep night! Also could fit some decent speakers in every month!

Something to do with banshees isn't it. Used to be Nicol Edwards.

Never been in, but from their site it looks like a rock pub - not sure I'd be able to swing enough of a crowd for it...

It looks pretty sick from the photos ere! I think its true though getting a crowd for this kind of night would be quite tough but not impossible! I think it would have to appeal to the deeper techno & house crowd aswell as the deeper dubstep heads. Probably touch into the garage territory aswell! Although I don't see why it couldn't get going, there is probably alot of people in Edi who are into that side of dubstep aswell!

Small venue + smart PR + decent rig + 100 pills (lol) = EDINBURGH DROWING UNDER SEA OF DEEP

It has a projector room, some sort of prison and a strip pole on the dance floor; it's a dubstep standard that!

Don't want to come be a bummer or nothing but if you start a night with the dfrnt name tag on it, people will come soooo, get on it!

Well after all this chat me & Ruari have started a weekly night at the store (GRV). Mainly going to be playing all types of house music, uk garage and that sweet sound of grime. Although we'll definitely be hitting into the dubtechno, dubstep styles depending on crowd & we'll definitely be playing hip hop, funk, beats etc.... We'lll be gettin all sorts of guests from around edinburgh and Glasgow including daoija, dushtead & jacou etc.... If anybody is up for playing just message me here - obviously if i don't know what you play might have to send me a mix or something!

The first one is Wednesday 2nd of March, gies a like on facebook if you're interested!
