Ok so, stuff like Rusko and Doctor P is brostep, and stuff like Substep Infrabass, Shekel is filthstep. Then what does Downlink/Datsik make, cuz that`s still totally different

I will give u small food for thought.
DEATHSTEP - is an extreme and underground subgenre of dubstep originating form DEATH METAL/ GRINDCORE scenes. It uses distorted guitar influenced synths over solid, 'real feel' drumwork and 'and sub-bass foundation. Underground character of the genre is emphasised by raw production and themes of violence, gore, mutilation, dissection, torture, rape, deviance, necrophilia (etc..).
BLACKSTEP - is an extreme and underground subgenre of dubstep originating form BLACK METAL. It uses distorted guitar influenced synths over solid, 'real feel' drumwork and 'and sub-bass foundation. Underground character of the genre is emphasised by raw production and pro - satanic and anti christian song themes.
Basically what I think every producer can came up with his own description of music/art he/she makes not only to distinguish his work but also to add to it a personal character.

The subs really uncentric, and under the midrange. I idnt say they werent going to be there, just that they wouldnt be the focus, the midrange would.
And lol at substep infrabass... I cant tell the difference between MEtal A and Metal B already, much less which one dubstep producer are bringing influence from... And Im not trying to get screamed at long enough to work out if the lyrics are anti-christian or about rape. Lets just say they both have blast beats and aggro synths.

still, its a good song.
i wouldn't really class it as brostep either tbh, sounds garagey
Skream, 2003: "To all the journalists - there's no such thing as Dubstep guys, we're just having fun making music!"
the difference is when you have someone who is supposed to be a staple player of what they're citing saying to not categorize it maybe you should listen
i don't get why you guys feel the need to sub categorize everything anyways it's easy to pick with your ears what sounds similar and not everyone is going to agree on well it's this subgenre no it's this one
that and people are coming up with the most retarded names and sub sub genres for shit that's been around for ages
ex: drumstep
