In fairness to the OP, I think I was online when this thread was posted someone else had just posted a thread about their new 'blog' and it really was astounding how bad it was, no design whatever, formating errors, reposts of Beatles "dubstep remixs" on youtube, it was pure waste

Stuff like urs arktrix is completely different tho, I have about 30 of these kind of sites bookmarked in my browser, they are decent and along with sites like DSF help me find good music quicker and easier so the more the better, if u have got a fresh mix from artists like benton then it is a win for me.. Really fuckin great blogs/ websites like FACT all had to start sumwhere too

surely if the critism is taken constructively its more effective than ignoring it? If threads such as this make bloggers question what they are doing and whether it is worthwhile and necessary than that will have more impact than burying your head in the sand.

i think you're missing the point. some people just shouldn't be doing certain things period, usually because they are not qualified to or they're doing it for the wrong reasons or both. putting forth effort to acknowledge something horribly bad is a way of validating its existence. in the case of bad blogs, they're already so bad that nobody will read them and they'll just die on their own, no extra effort required. people should let other people recognize their own mediocrity... not to get all philosophical and shit but robbing people of opportunities to gain self awareness is a disservice to humanity

I can see you're point but this would only be the case if specific blogs had been mentioned. As they haven't, there has been no validation so your philosophical point while potentially correct is, in this case misguided.

Objecting to the sentiment of this thread 8)

You could say the same about anything on the internet...and as for reposting...isn't that pretty much the point of promotion? Not everyone involved in music is reading this forum. If you don't like blogs, don't visit them. If you don't like threads about blogs, don't read them.

We - being me and the other person I run the blog with not just me and my "one man project" - just had the most successful month ever on Box Musique and we've got more subscribers than ever before too. Calling the concept pointless is pointlessly generalised in itself.

Note: I have an Xbox already, I love my Xbox ;)

you'd better make a list with blogs that really ARE worth it. this threat is just as worthless as some of those stupid blogs imo
